Harry A. "Chub" Pickens

   Harry A. "Chub" Pickens, 90, of New Haven, West Virginia passed away on December 17, 2017.  He was born on July 31, 1927 in South Grove, Illinois son of the late Everett and Vannie Pickens.
   He was a member of the New Haven United Methodist Church where he was a Lay Leader and a Sunday School teacher.  He was also a member of the Junior Order of United American Mechanics and the Gideons International.  He retired from the Phillip Sporn Plant after 39 years of service.   Chub was an avid West Virginia University Mountaineer fan.  His service and especially his friendship will be greatly missed at Anderson Funeral Home where he has been a key part of for the past 19 years.    
   He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Vera Pickens; his daughter, Sandra (James) Blake of Point Pleasant; brothers, Ray Pickens of Pt. Pleasant and Jack (Ruth) Pickens of Letart, WV; grandchildren, Tim Blake and Beth Blake; great grandchildren, Zachery (Shawna) Blake and Kerigan Blake; great great granddaughter, Paisley Nicole Blake; and several nieces and nephews.
   Funeral services will be on Wednesday at 2:00pm at the Anderson Funeral Home in New Haven.  Burial will follow at Graham Cemetery.  Visiting hours will be on Wednesday from 12:00pm to 2:00pm at the funeral home.  A registry is available at www.andersonfh.com.
   In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Mr. Pickens may be made to the New Haven United Methodist Church.
